The SMS to Email feature converts incoming SMS messages into email messages where users can view them from their mailbox.
The SMS to Email feature can be activated in two ways:
- Enabling the Inbound Alert option for a licensed user – Once this is enabled, a licensed user will receive an email alert for each incoming SMS message received.
- Using Inbound Filters and Transmission Actions – You can configure inbound filters and transmission actions to send email messages to different users based on the properties of the incoming SMS message such as SMS message content or the sender mobile number.
There is an inbound alert option in the properties of each licensed user. Once this option is enabled, a licensed user will receive a copy of an incoming SMS message as an email message in his mailbox. There is no limit on the number of licensed users who can receive incoming SMS messages by email.
Inbound Filters and Transmission Actions
An inbound filter rule specify specific conditions and transmission actions to activate when these conditions are met. You can configure an inbound filter rule that picks out certain incoming SMS messages based on the properties of an incoming SMS message such as the message content or the sender’s mobile number. You can then specify the respective transmission actions to activate when these conditions are met. The transmission actions will contain the different email recipients.
