What we measure
The wireless temperature and humidity sensor measures real-time ambient temperature, relative humidity, dew point and atmospheric pressure from a water-resistant IP67 certified enclosure.
How to add sensor
Add a wireless sensor with its MAC address.
Set basic configuration
- Access Sensors > Sensors Configuration.
- Click “Edit” button for temperature, humidity or dew point to edit it.
- Check “Active” checkbox for sensor to be monitored.
- You can change the sensor name, measurement unit or calibrate the sensor.
Set what trips a sensor
Access the “Trip Conditions” section.
You can configure a sensor to trip when the following conditions occur:
- Reading is lower than a preset reading for longer than a predefined period.
- Reading is higher than a preset reading for longer than a predefined period.
“Lower than” checkbox activates the tripping condition when the reading falls below a preset reading:
- Check the checkbox to activate this feature.
- Key in the preset value.
“Higher than” checkbox activates the tripping condition when the reading goes above a preset reading:
- Check the checkbox to activate this feature.
- Key in the preset value.
The “Sensor is tripped when the conditions occur longer than” field specifies the number of minutes that the reading must be below or above the preset value before it is considered tripped.
The “Sensor has recovered when the conditions do not occur longer than” field specifies the number of minutes that the reading must be in the normal range before it is considered recovered.
Example:
Temperature Sensor setting:
- Low: 20 Degrees Celsius
- High: 30 Degrees Celsius
- Trip mins: 5
- Recovery mins:5
Sensor will trip if
- the temperature goes below 20 Degrees Celsius (Low) for 5 minutes (trip mins).
- the temperature goes above 30 Degrees Celsius (High) for 5 minutes (trip mins)
- the temperature goes to between 20 Degrees Celsius and 30 Degrees Celsius for 5 minutes (recovery mins)
Set when alerts are sent
Access the “Alert Conditions” section.
Set the following:
- Check “Send alert when sensor is tripped” checkbox to send alerts when sensor is tripped.
- Check “Repeat alert every X mins if sensor remains tripped” checkbox to send alerts at a regular interval when sensor is tripped.
- Check “Send alert when sensor has recovered” checkbox when sensor has recovered.
Set who receives alerts
Access the “Alert Mechanisms” section.
Check the respective checkboxes to send alerts using email or SNMP Trap alert profiles.
You can configure the alert profiles that appear in the Alert Mechanisms section.
The alert profile types are email and SNMP traps.
You can send SMS alerts by creating an email alert profile that specifies VMR as the SMTP server to utilize the email to SMS functionality of VMR.
For more information, please refer to Configuring Sensor Alert Profiles.
Once configuration is completed, access the Control Panel to start and stop the service for the change to take effect.
