VMR – System Settings

Configuring System-wide Settings

You can configure preference settings to the various services in VMR. These services include SMS, SMTP, POP3, Syslog, SNMP, HTTP and Others.

Configuring SMS

You can configure preferences settings regarding to the service SMS. This include both inbound and outbound service.

SMS Settings

Description

Use Inbound SMS

Check this to allow VMR to listen for incoming SMS.

Use Outbound SMS

Check this to allow VMR to send SMS.

Set Interval Timing to Poll for Outbound SMS

Set polling interval to send SMS. Smaller interval means faster sending. However, this might cause instability to the modem due to the various network environment reasons.

Set Interval Timing to Poll for Inbound SMS

Set polling interval to listen for inbound SMS.

Modem Configuration

Windows version of VMR is needed to configure the connection to the modem. However appliance based modem configuration is automatically applied and this is not necessary.

SIM Pin

Pin related to SIM for authentication purposes. Empty pin would indicates no pin needed.

Filter by Phone Number Source

Set whether incoming phone will be filtered.

Modem Settings

Modem settings refers to various parameters need to connect VMR to the modem.

Configuring SMTP

You can configure settings relating to internal SMTP server.

SMTP Settings

Description

Use SMTP Server

Set this to use SMTP Server.

SMTP Server Receptive Port Number

Modify this for SMTP Network Port.

Authentication Needed for SMTP Server

Set this to authenticate against License User’s credential before allowing into relay.

Allow All Mail Domains

Check this to accept all mail domains and overwrite those in the Configurating SMTP Domains.

Remove Duplicate Recipients

Check this to remove duplicate emails from the recipients list. 

Use Outbound SMTP

Check this to allow VMR to send message out by SMTP.

Filter by Email Address Source

Check this to filter From email.

Configuring POP3

This refers to both internal POP3 and external POP3 service.

POP3 Settings

Description

Use POP3 Server

Check this to use internal POP3 server.

Internal POP3 Server Port Number

You can modify the internal POP3 server port number.

Use Outbound POP3

Check this to use outbound POP3 service to poll for external POP3 accounts.

Set Interval Timing to Poll for POP3 Messages

Set the interval to poll for external POP3 accounts.

Filter by Email Address Source

Set this to allow filtering From email.

Configuring Syslog

This refers to both internal Syslog server and external Syslog service.

Syslog Settings

Description

Use Syslog Server

Check this to use the internal syslog server.

Internal Syslog Port Number

You can modify the internal Syslog server port number.

Use Outbound Syslog

Check this to allow the use of outbound Syslog service.

Filter By IP Address Source

Set this to allow filtering From IP Address.

Configuring SNMP

This refers to both internal SNMP server and external SNMP service.

SNMP Settings

Description

Use SNMP Server

Check this to use the internal SNMP Server.

SNMP Port Number

You can modify the internal SNMP server port number.

SNMPv3 Credentials

Enter Credentials for SNMP version 3 authentication.

Use Outbound SNMP

Check this to enable sending of SNMP Traps.

Filter by IP Address Source

Set this to allow filtering From IP Address.

Configuring HTTP

This refers to both internal http server and outbound HTTP service.

HTTP Settings

Description

Use HTTP Service

Check this to use the internal HTTP Server.

Use Outbound HTTP

Check this to enable HTTP calling.

Filter by IP Address Source

Set this to allow filtering From IP Address.

Configuring Others

This refers other settings that will affect system wide.

Other Settings

Description

Default System Email Address

This refers to in the event a message does not possess any from email address, this address will be used to tag as the originator address.

Interval Timing for Schedule Polling

You can modify this to poll scheduled message.

Debug Verbose Mode

This is used in troubleshooting for manufacturer. Enable this to increase more logs for debugging purposes only. Normal operation should not need it.
